Single Seminars
The following
seminars are suitable for situations in which a single
presentation is to be scheduled. Each lasts from 45-60
minutes. Allow extra time if a discussion session afterwards
is desirable. All incorporate Power Point slide
illustrations. We bring our own computer and video
projector, and a 6-foot screen if one is unavailable in the
meeting room.
Understanding spiritual hunger
Although many
mainstream Protestant churches have been declining in membership
for a long time, there are a number of religious groups that are
exploding with new growth, some of them into the millions. These
include such diverse movements as the Charismatics and the
Mormons. Millions really are looking for spiritual answers to a
wide variety of spiritual questions and needs. But many of these
individuals are "looking for Love in all the wrong places." In
this seminar, Pam profiles some of the most surprising elements
that are attracting many people from a wide variety of religious
backgrounds to aberrant groups. And you will be equipped with
information and resources to help you find ways to share the
true Gospel and its real answers to spiritual hunger with those
who may be searching.
Individual and Small Group Evangelism
Many believers
have long been convinced that "evangelism" is something done by
specialists, and in modern times primarily by mass media efforts
of television, radio, and glossy publications. Thus many
individuals and small group fellowships have felt that their
only obligation to spreading the Good News of salvation in Jesus
Christ was to give generous tithes and offerings to fund the
larger, centralized efforts of someone else. Yet the first
century Church was said to have "turned the world upside down"
and to have spread the Gospel throughout much of the civilized
world within a few short years after the Day of Pentecost
described in Acts 2-- all without any electronic or print mass
media at all! This seminar explores ways that individuals and
small groups can have a dynamic part in using their own gifts
and resources in their local communities and beyond to reach a
dying world with the life-giving Truths of the Bible.
