Disclaimer:

We have not included the men and women on this site for the purpose of offering any of them as “heroes” or “ideal role models.” No human being is perfect; most have at least a few glaring short-comings. And some of the people included on this website may even have whole aspects of their lives that are less than admirable. This is not surprising, as most famous people throughout history, no matter how great their accomplishments in some areas, have had feet of clay.

Consider King Solomon in the Bible: By the end of his life it is recorded that he turned away from the pure worship of the true God to following his many wives into serving their pagan gods! And yet his words are still recorded in the book of Proverbs in the Bible after almost 3000 years, and studied, admired, and used as a guide to life by both Christians and Jews. He may have ultimately failed miserably in his personal life, but his written words are still infused with the wisdom that God gave him in his earlier years. And he used the gift of verbal creativity with which God endowed him to craft some of the most memorable sayings of all time.

And so it is with each of the people profiled on this site. In spite of whatever shortcomings they may have had in their personal lives, the life work of each in their chosen field exhibits a creative spark that can be admired and even emulated, without the need to embrace those aspects of their lives that came up short.
